Curcumin, Is this the BEST Anti Inflammatory Supplement ?

Curcumin, considered to be one of the most beneficial compounds from the spice Turmeric, dates back around 5000 yrs.

Turmeric itself is the spice that gives curry that dazzling yellow colour.  Turmeric has been used in India for thousands of years as a spice, and also as a medicinal herb. The actual Curcumin content in turmeric is actually not that high (3%), hence the ever increasing demand for Curcumin supplements. 

Curcumin – Can It Reduce Inflammation ?

From a study, carried out by Oregon State University  according to them, Mounting evidence from preclinical studies shows that curcumin modulates numerous molecular targets and exerts antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and neuroprotective activities.

Around 34 percent of Americans have a condition known as “metabolic syndrome”. This is a term used to describe a group of symptoms that increase your risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke and other chronic diseases.

The symptoms of “metabolic syndrome” include, a large waistline, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, low levels of HDL cholesterol and high levels of triglycerides. Metabolic Syndrome and heart disease have a common thread,  In a word, “inflammation”.

It makes sense then that Curcumin, known as one of the most powerful anti inflammatories in nature, could also lower inflammation in people with these disorders.

Turmeric is thought to be one of the most powerful and useful herbs on the planet.

In india, it is referred to as “The Spice of Life”.  There are many health benefits possibly associated with taking correct quantities of Curcumin. The problem that most people have is consuming enough Circumin daily to be of any benefit. This problem can be easily overcome by taking a supplement. 

Although studies of Curcumin may prove that this powerful compound is most useful in reducing inflammation, it has also been linked to as many as 150 other health benefits, including possibly reducing cancer cell growth.
